Main news:

• Section 2 LIMITATION
Table 2.3.A has been amended: each passenger is permitted to carry on board a maximum of fifteen portable electronic devices and a maximum of twenty spare lithium batteries
• Section 3 CLASSIFICATION
With reference to the Class 9, UN numbers have been grouped according to the product type
• Section 4 IDENTIFICATION
Some Special Provisions have been revised, such as A70, which identifies the conditions under which an engine can be considered as “not restricted”, and A203, which identifies that a bi-fuel vehicle, liquid + flammable gas, must be assigned to the entry “Vehicle, flammable gas powered”
• Section 5 PACKAGING
New restrictions on placing packages containing lithium batteries into an overpack with packages containing Dangerous Goods classified in Class 1, other than Division 1.4S, Division 2.1, Class 3, Division 4.1 or Division 5.1
• Section 6 PACKING INSTRUCTION
Some packing instructions have been revised, including PI 965 and PI 968, which refer to packages containing lithium batteries
• Section 7 MARKING & LABELING
The UN number(s) on the lithium battery mark (paragraph 7.1.5.5.2) must have definite dimensions
• Section 9 HANDLING
Table 9.3.A has been revised to introduce segregation requirements for lithium batteries (UN 3480 and UN 3090) and the above-mentioned classes. This segregation is recommended in 2018, and it will become mandatory in 2019
